Cape Cod in Massachusetts has been a long-time favorite summer destination for generations of families. From its picturesque coastal views to peaceful villages, great beaches and ferry trips, Cape Cod offers something for everyone in summer 2022.

Sandwich Glass Museum

One of Cape Cod’s longest-serving attractions, the Sandwich Glass Museum has been operating since 1825. It boasts a collection of stunning glassworks, some of which are extremely rare. Colorful vases aside, the Sandwich Glass Museum is running its 4th annual seafair on May 21st.

A great activity for all the family, the museum will be running a craft fair full of ocean-themed glassware for you to purchase. Featuring everything from mythical sea creatures to waves and mermaids, there is sure to be a piece that captures your imagination.

Festivals and Celebrations in Provincetown

Ready for a celebration of awareness and diversity? Provincetown PRIDE is running from June 3rd to June 5th. Check back in from August 13th to August 20th for the Provincetown carnival, which marks another celebration of the LGBTQ+ community.

In honor of the area’s Portuguese traditions, June 23rd to June 26th marks the Provincetown Portuguese Festival. Music, dancing and great food will all be in supply as the area celebrates another Portuguese Heritage Month.

Pilgrim Monument

The largest granite structure in the USA, you can rise to the challenge of climbing the Pilgrim Monument in Provincetown. Constructed between 1907 and 1910, you must pass 116 steps and 60 ramps to reach the top. You will be rewarded with brilliant views of Cape Cod and the surrounding beaches!

Cape Cod Rail Trail

This paved trail is 41km long and can be found in Barnstable County. Explore a route which offers wonderful views of everything Cape Cod has to offer! This is a child-friendly route that can be hiked, or you could go bicycling or rollerblading.

A scenic way to spend your time in Cape Cod, just remember to watch out for crossings and cyclists if you are going on the Cape Cod Rail Trail with young children.

Wellfleet Drive-in Theater

As the only drive-in theater on Cape Cod, this is a great spot to catch a movie. If you’ve never experienced a drive-in theater before, there is nowhere more relaxing for your first time! Having opened in 1957, be sure to come here for a great retro activity.

The best part? You can watch unlimited movies when you park up. With no rush to leave after finishing one movie, this adds to the chilled-out atmosphere that Cape Cod has to offer.
